H1B Prevailing Wage & FY 2027 H-1B Registration Selection Process Completed
USCIS has completed the FY 2027 H-1B initial registration selection process. Employers can now check selection statuses in their myUSCIS accounts, with petitions accepted starting April 1, 2026.
USCIS announced on March 31, 2026 that the FY 2027 H-1B initial registration selection process has been completed. Registrants and their representatives can now log into their myUSCIS accounts to view the selection status for each submitted registration.
For those selected, H-1B cap-subject petitions may be filed beginning April 1, 2026. USCIS will accept petitions for the upcoming fiscal year during the designated filing period, as outlined in the official announcement.
While this update primarily affects H-1B applicants, it has indirect relevance to EB-3 employment-based immigrants. Many workers on H-1B visas eventually transition to employment-based green card pathways, including EB-3. The H-1B selection process affects the overall pipeline of skilled foreign workers pursuing long-term U.S. residency.
Employers sponsoring foreign workers should review their myUSCIS dashboards promptly to determine next steps for selected registrants. Those not selected in this initial round should be aware that USCIS may conduct additional selection rounds if the cap is not met.
USCIS finalized FY 2027 H-1B cap selections on March 31, 2026. Selected petitioners may file starting April 1 using the new Form I-129 edition. Overseas winners face a $100,000 fee under a Trump presidential proclamation.
USCIS may blacklist applicants who attempt to game the H1B lottery through passport renewal, employer changes, or wage level manipulation, according to an official I-797C notice.
USCIS completed the FY2027 H-1B lottery on March 31, 2026, using a new weighted wage-level selection process for the first time. Selected employers have 90 days (April 1–June 30) to file petitions, with employment eligible from October 1, 2026.
