The Department of State has released the April 2026 Visa Bulletin, showing notable forward movement across several employment-based categories. The most significant advance comes in the EB-2 India Final Action Date, which moved forward 10 months from September 2013 to July 2014 — described as one of the largest single-month advances in years for this heavily oversubscribed category. For the Rest of World (ROW) EB-3 category, the Final Action Date advanced a substantial 24 months, jumping from June 2022 to June 2024. This is a significant development for applicants outside the heavily backlogged countries of India, China, Mexico, and the Philippines. Mexico and the Philippines both saw their EB-2 Final Action Dates become current this month, meaning applicants from those countries with approved I-140 petitions in the EB-2 category may now be eligible to file for adjustment of status or receive an immigrant visa immediately. However, EB-3 India saw no movement, remaining at November 2013, and China EB-2 also held steady at September 2021. Applicants from these countries continue to face multi-year waits due to the annual per-country visa caps. Applicants are advised to consult the official Visa Bulletin at travel.state.gov and speak with an immigration attorney to determine their eligibility based on their specific priority dates and category.
