The U.S. Department of State has released the April 2026 Visa Bulletin, with USCIS confirming it will use the Dates for Filing chart for employment-based adjustment of status applications this month. The bulletin brings notable movement across multiple employment-based preference categories. For EB-3 applicants, the most significant development is that All Chargeability Areas and Mexico will become current, meaning applicants from these countries may file I-485 adjustment of status applications regardless of their priority date. The Philippines EB-3 cutoff remains at January 1, 2024, while China EB-3 holds at January 1, 2022. India-born EB-3 applicants see a meaningful five-month advancement, with the cutoff moving to January 15, 2015. This progression also applies to Other Workers for India. For the Other Workers category broadly, All Chargeability Areas, Mexico, and the Philippines advance five weeks to August 1, 2022. In the EB-2 category, India advances two-and-a-half months to January 15, 2015, while China EB-2 remains at January 1, 2022. EB-1 dates hold steady across all chargeability areas, with China and India maintaining their December 1, 2023 cutoffs. Applicants should verify their priority date against the Dates for Filing chart — not the Final Action Dates chart — when determining filing eligibility in April 2026. Those with pending cases should monitor whether USCIS shifts chart usage in subsequent months, as this directly affects when final approval and green card grant can occur.
