I-693 is valid for 2 years from the civil surgeon's signature date. Best to do it right before filing I-485 or when your priority date is getting close.
The interview is usually very straightforward for employment-based cases. They verify your identity, employment, and documents. Nothing to stress about.
How long did the I-485 take after filing? That's the part I'm dreading most.
Welcome to the GC club! The relief of finally having it in hand is indescribable.
Congrats! Did your employer support you throughout the entire process?
Great tip about layover countries. I almost got stuck in London because of this.
Were you able to use EAD during the waiting period? How was the transition from H-1B to EAD?
So happy for you! Did you face any RFEs during the process?
Every success story makes the wait a little more bearable. Congratulations!
Did you have to do medical exam (I-693)? How far in advance should I schedule it?
Two years is actually pretty fast for EB-3. What was your chargeability area?
18 months is impressive! Did you use premium processing for I-140?
Yes premium for I-140 which was approved in 2 weeks. Then waited about 16 months for I-485.
Thanks Vikram! Will keep an eye out mid-March then.
Did you file I-485 concurrently with I-140 or waited for I-140 approval first?
Any tips for the I-485 interview? I'm scheduled for next month and nervous.
For those in the queue โ it does get better. I got mine in 2024 and the whole process took about 18 months from I-140 filing.

Stories like this keep me going through the long wait. Congrats!
Congratulations!! This is so inspiring. Can you share your complete timeline?
Nina could you share your timeline too? Would love to compare notes.
Sure! I-140: filed Jan 2023, approved May 2023. I-485: filed June 2023, approved March 2024. All at Nebraska.
This post should be pinned. Success stories are so motivating for the rest of us still waiting.
